Alt House began with the belief that sustainability is a systems problem. Technologies, institutions, incentives, and cultures are all designed, which means they should be questioned, revised, and rebuilt to create a more sustainable world.
All systems have limits. Building beyond those limits requires alternative designs. Our work begins with first principles and ends in contact with the market. A meaningful alternative cannot stop at the idea; its interface, mechanics, economics, operations, and values must work together as a viable system in the real world.
Alt House is a technology institution built around a repeatable strategy of creation. We identify important systems that have reached meaningful limits, develop alternative designs, and build the companies needed to prove those alternatives in the real world. The goal is not novelty for its own sake, but durable businesses that expand what is possible.
TruTake
TruTake is a new way to understand what people think. By measuring belief and perception directly, it helps communities see themselves more clearly and move beyond the advertising and attention mechanics of established platforms.
The result is a shared, navigable map of public belief and perception, built through private contribution rather than engagement ranking or ad revenue. TruTake gives people a more meaningful way to contribute what they know, learn from one another, and coordinate around a clearer picture of reality.

Donald Pierce grew up in Michigan and moved to New York City to attend New York University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in physics with a minor in mathematics in 2019. His early career spanned startups, advertising, and finance, with a focus on software and data engineering and building alternative data systems for investment teams. His growing interest in information systems intertwined with his rising concern about the ways modern media built on advertising incentives have exploited society and young people. This obsession led him to pursue more sustainable alternatives with TruTake. He founded Alt House in 2024 to pursue that work full time.
